Carroll K. Hartman Sr., 73, of 3671 Mountain Road, died Monday, May 13, 2002, at Quincy United Methodist Home, Quincy, Pennsylvania, USA
Born Feb. 25, 1929, in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania, USA, he was the son of the late Aaron W. and Mary A. Barlup Hartman.
He entered the U.S. Air Force in May 1948 and retired as a master sergeant in August 1969. He served in Germany and Greenland. Following his retirement, he operated a farm in Mercersburg.
He was a member of Harry D. Zeigler VFW Post 6319 of Greencastle, Pennsylvania, USA
He was of the Protestant faith.
He is survived by his companion of 21 years, Doris E. Kidd; two daughters, Debbie M. Rowe of Waynesboro, Pennsylvania, USA, and Betty M. Miller of Greencastle; one son, Carroll K. Hartman Jr. of Mercersburg; four sisters, Pearl Wagaman of Waynesboro, Ruth Sharer of Williamsport, Naomi Carr of Greencastle, and Vera Hartman of Mt. Holly Springs, Pennsylvania, USA; two brothers, Richard Hartman of Greencastle, and Edgar Hartman of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, USA; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Glenn Hartman, Galen Hartman, Casper Hartman and Ralph Hartman.
Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Lininger-Fries Funeral Home Inc., Mercersburg. Pastor David Carroll will officiate.
Burial will be in Welsh Run Brethren Cemetery, Welsh Run, Pennsylvania, USA
Visitation will be today from 7 to 9 p.m. and one hour prior to the services on Wednesday at the funeral home.
