Information has been received in this city of the death of L. H. Gunnell, a former resident of Oshkosh, who died at Arlington, NJ as the result of an automobile accident in which he was injured. The accident occurred at New York City July 2 while Mr. Gunnell was driving his car across an intersection. His automobile was struck by another machine.
Mr. Gunnell was associated with his brother in the wholesale brokerage business. He had been a resident of Oshkosh for about fifteen years, but had left here twenty-five years ago to go east.
He is survived by his wife, who was formerly Miss Josie Rumery, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. L. O. Rumery, of Oshkosh. Two sons, Oliver and Lewis, Jr. and one daughter, Mrs. Howard (Lydia R.) Creed; and seven grandchildren also survive. They are all of Arlington, NJ. A son,Benjamin H. Gunnell was killed in service during World War I. The deceased was a brother-in-law of Mrs. C. A. Wakeman, Miss Carrie Rumery and L. O. Rumery, of Oshkosh; Mrs. J. Howard Clement and Mrs. Frances G. Underwood, both of Milwaukee and J. P. Rumery, of Chicago.
Funeral services and burial are to be at Arlington although no definite arrangement have yet been made for the funeral.
