Jacob FOUSE
(7 NOV 1792 - 2 MAY 1845)
Jacob Fouse, son of Nicholas and Margaret (Brumbaugh) Fouse, was born November 7, 1792. On June 21, 1814 he married Elizabeth Miller in Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania, born May 31, 1789; daughter of Abraham and Elizabeth (Clapper) Miller. Soon after their marriage they moved to Ohio and settled on the west side of Congress Lake, part of Southwest Quarter, Section 3, Lake Township 12, Range 8, Stark County, fourteen miles north of Canton.
They were pioneers, cleared a farm in the forest, and lived there throughout their lives. Both parents were members of the Reformed Church at Uniontown, Ohio. Jacob died May 2, 1845, and Elizabeth died April 8, 1866 (Plate 8). They had five children; Mary, Margaret, Abraham, Catharine, and Christena.
