Alvin Elwood Richard, 95, of Old Park Road, Lewistown, went to be with the Lord Friday, March 18, 2016, at his residence.Born July 12, 1920, in Maitland, he was the son of the late John W. and Sovilla (Yeater) Richard. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Clare Hickman Richard.Also surviving are: children, Sandy Wagner and husband, Gary, of Pleasant Acres, and Lamar Richard and wife, Tammy, of Lewistown; six stepgrandchildren and 16 stepgreat- grandchildren.Elwood was preceded in death by three brothers, Harry, Norman and Maynard.He owned and operated Richard's Gas Pump Services and Richard's Plumbing and Heating. He was a member of the Maitland Church of the Brethren, willing workers Sunday school class and the Granville Grange.A funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 22, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Barr Funeral Home Inc. and Crematory, 120 Logan St., with the Rev. Charles Eldredge officiating. Interment will be in the Maitland Cemetery.
