Death
Dennis Lee Jones, 62 of Winter Garden, Fl. formerly of Cambridge, died Thursday December 4, 2008 at his home. He was born September 5, 1946 in Zanesville, son of the late Robert L. Jones and Wanda P. (Johnston) Jones DeLucas. Mr. Jones was formerly employed in the oil and gas industry and later retired as a real estate salesman for Morrison Homes in Florida. He was a graduate of Cambridge High School and served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1965 to 1971. He was a member of Elks Lodge #448 and the First Christian Church where he served as deacon. Vice President of the Church Board, Co-leader of the worship committee and a member of the financial committee. He is survived by his wife, Kathy (Fulton) Jones of Winter Garden, whom he married September 4, 1966; a daughter, Carie Milligan and grandson Jason Milligan of Winter Garden; his brother, Ed Jones and Nancy Douglas of Cambridge; his sister, Bobbie Sue Hunt of Cambridge, nieces, Shelly Jones, Jennifer Pritchard, Jill Mirabelli, Sherry (Chuck) Pinto, and Amanda (Daniel) Dixon; nephews, Scott (Jodie) Jones, Todd (Nicole) Jones, Daniel (Jennica) Pritchard, and Danny Michell Jr.; uncles, William (Regina) Jones and Donald (Mary) Jones; and aunt Carol (Vernon) Penwell; a sister-in-law, Becky (Danny) Pritchard; and a step-brother, Danny (Peggy) Mitchell; several cousins and several great nieces and nephews. He was well loved by everyone he met. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Clarence and Edith Johnston and Raymond and Pearl Jones; two uncles, Willard and Jack Johnston and two cousins, Bobby Johnston and Curt Jones. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge where services will be on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Terry Tate officiating. Military graveside services will be conducted by the Guernsey County Veterans Council. Burial in Center Cemetery, Cambridge.
