Death
Elnora R. Zarkovich, 89, of Bridges of Brookline, Mifflintown died at 9:03 p.m., on Saturday, February 27, 2010, at the home.
Born September 5, 1920, in Lewistown, Mifflin County, she was a daughter of the late David L. and Etta (Hommel) Baker. Her husband, Peter "Pete" Zarkovich, preceded her in death on January 21, 2000.
Surviving are her children: Shirley Z. Wray, of Mifflintown, Paul D. Zarkovich, of Lewistown, John E. Zarkovich, of McAlisterville, Gary L. Zarkovich, of Strodes Mills, siblings Martha Warner, of Mechanicsburg, Etta Henry, of Lewistown, Bruce Baker, of Newburgh, NY, Nancy Francis, of Quebec, Canada, Shirley Morgan, of Lewistown, Ray Baker, of Mifflintown and she leaves behind nine grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were three sisters, Freda Smith, Dorothy Baker, Betty Fultz and five brothers, Harry Baker, Brown Baker, Daniel Baker, Rev. Harold "Big" Baker and Robert Baker.
Elnora was a charter member of the Calvary Bible Church, Lewistown .
Mrs. Zarkovich was a 1938 graduate of Yeagertown High School and was employed by F.W. Woolworth and then the Tire Fabric Dept. of the American Viscose Corp, both of Lewistown.
She was an avid sports fan, who loved the Pittsburgh Pirates, the Pittsburgh Steelers and enjoyed watching NASCAR racing.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 3, 2010, from the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown with her brother Ray Baker officiating. Interment followed in the Old Church Hill Cemetery, Port Royal.
Viewing was held from 6 - 8 p.m., Tuesday, March 2, 2010, at the funeral home.
