Death
Milford H. CLAPPER, Huntingdon, R.D. 4, died unexpectedly at 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 20, 1979, at his home.He was born at James Creek on Nov. 11, 1916, a son of the late Calvin CLAPPER and Blanche (Dorman) CLAPPER. He was married to Virginia V. ROGERS on Aug. 23, 1941 in Cumberland Md.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters: Mrs. Robert (Rebecca) KEITH, Mechanicsburg; Susan L. and Debra L. CLAPPER, both of Huntingdon. Two brothers and a sister also survive: Rawleigh CLAPPER, Martinsburg; Ray CLAPPER, Saxton and Alice, James Creek. He was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Milford CLAPPER, two brothers and a sister.
The deceased was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, McConnellstown. He served as a deacon in the church. Mr. CLAPPER worked as a sales representative for C. H. Miller Hardware Co., retiring after 38 years of service. He was a member of Standing Stone Post No. 1754, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Huntingdon. He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II Force during World War II as sergeant.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Nov. 23, at 2 p.m. at the Albert Masood Funeral Chapel, Saxton. The Rev. Edward Gobrecht will officiate and interment will be made in St. Luke's Cemetery, Saxton, R.D. Friends will be received at the funeral chapel on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
