Henry was a farmer in Glen Oroua until the end of the 1914/1918 war. After this he took his family to Te Puke, where he farmed until about1924. The farm at Te Puke was inappropriate for cattle, so took their stock to Thornton, Whakatane, Sharemilking. At the end of four years, they had enough money to start farming on their own account at Walton, Waikato. They stayed on this farm until they retired to Hamilton to 1939.
