Some genealogists believed that it was Jean Bourg`s daughter who had first married Pierre Maisonnat dit Baptiste and then Pierre Leblanc but during the 1700 census, she was single whereas Madeleine was with her second husband.
Many genealogists believe that Anne(Jeanne) Bourg, Bernard`s daughter married Charles Melanson, but had she been Bernard`s daughter, her son Pierre would have married his first cousin Marie-Josèphe Granger whose mother was also Bernard`s daughter. The marriage act of Pierre Melanson and Marie-Jos Granger indicates that the mothers of the spouses were first cousin. We have therefore concluded that Anne (Jeanne) Bourg, Bernard`s daughter married into the Claude Dugas family as did her sisters and one brother.
