Guillaume Pelletier

Came to Canada in 1641 and soon settled in Beauport. As many, in those days, he was a carpenter and a framer even though in France he had been a coal merchant. He was one of those workers responsible for the building of the Château St-Louis, the parish church, the Ursulines convent, etc, etc. He was nicknamed 'le gobeloteur' that is a person who likes to drink, a little bit, very often, who likes to laugh and sing.
