Jean Pelletier

(12 Jun 1627 - 24 Feb 1698)

Called Gobloteur or LeGoblotteur, as was his father, he came to Canada at the age of 14. Was a carpenter and a coal man. Pierre St-Pierre and Jean Pelletier were the first two settlers of St-Roch des Aulnaies. It was only in 1694 that another settler, Joseph Ouellet arrived. Jean was 52 years old when he arrived in St-Roch des Aulnaies. Though Jean died in St-Roch-des-Aulnaies, he was buried the next day in Rivière-Ouelle.
