4. George and his 3 sons Daniel, Gilbert and Nathan were soilders for
Col. Butler(British) suring the War of 1776.
5. George and Rebecca are listed as being in Niagara in 1783 in the "Sons

Massacre" and left Wyoming.
30 Oct 1778 Enjoined to give themselves up before Dec. 15 and stand trial or
be attainted of high treason. Proclamation issued by the Supreme
Executive Council of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Undated The family came from New Jersey in canoes and landed near this
spot (Niagara River Road). Niagara Historical Society, pamphlet
No 5, 1914.
20 July 1781 List of persons who have subscribed their names for Crown Land
opposite to (Ft.) Niagara
25 Aug 1782 Settlement at Niagara. Census includes a married woman (Rebecca)
and two boys (Gilbert & Nathan), 22 acres land cleared. Ontario

Mar-Apr 1783 The name "George Fields" appears on Allan Macdonell's plan of the
"New Settlement-Niagara River Line". The Mark of Honor.
28 Nov 1783 Attained of High Treason in pursuance of the treason laws of the
State of Pennsylvania.
1 Dec 1783 Age 62, wife Rebecca age 58 on Return of persons under the
description of Loyalist being settled at this post (Niagara).
1785 Probable year of death.
14 Sept 1786 Not on Loyalist Victualing List, But wife and sons were.
8 July 1794 Petitioner [Rebecca Field] is the widow of George Field who
served HisMajesty last war in Col. butler's Corps of Rangers...
