Hannah Johnson is recorded as living with her husband, Israel Timothy Alden, and son, Fredrick Israel Alden (age 23) in 1885. The census mistakenly records Israel with the last name Peterson, and records Fredrick Israel by his initials rather than his full name.Residence
Hannah Johnson was recorded as living with her son Abner Sherman Alden in 1900.The census records Hannah has having had eight children, of which only six were living in 1900.
Property
Near the time of her death, in January 1908, Hannah Johnson owned 120 acres in Section 29 of Richland Township, Iowa, with a house, and 40 acres in section 28. Fredrick Israel Alden (her son) also owned 160 acres in Section 21 and 160 acres in Section 32 with house, also in Richland Township. The initials in the census document are wrong, but census data confirms this was the home of the F. I. Alden family. Robert J. McCormick (son-in-law) likewise owns 200 acres in section 29, and 80 acres with a house in Section 32 that is shared property with his wife Alice Alvira (daughter).Endnotes
