The house still exists and appears to be in good condition. It is near a bridge crossing the Des Peres River, and located across the river from a large industrial plant (now a chemical plant). Wilmar Lee Hayman died from "hemorhage due to extensive crushing of left leg, following an accident in which he was pinned between a beam upon which he was working and a beam which workers were moving by an electric crane, operated by one Joseph Vogt at Stupp Brothers Building Company. The injury occurred on 16 May 1938 at about 7:50 am.Death
Wilmar Lee Hayman died from "hemorhage due to extensive crushing of left leg, following an accident in which he was [ ] between a beam upon which he was working a a beam which workers were moving by an electric crane, operated by one Joseph Vogt at Stupp Brothers Building Company. The injury occurred on 16 May 1938 at about 7:50 am.The death is said to have occurred at 5:50 pm. An autopsy was conducted.
Obituary: "Hayman, Wilmar - 8120 Idaho av., entered into rest Thurs., May 19, 1938, beloved husband of Ruby Hayman (nee Davis), our dear father, son-in-law, brother, brother-in-law and uncle in his 29th year. Funeral Mon., May 23, 2 p.m. from Fendler Und. Co., city parlors, 7420 Michigan, at Koeln. Interment Mt. Hope Cemetery."
