Dempsey Odom

(Abt 1814 - Bef 1880)

Dempsey Odom and Delilah Emmons Odom migrated from TN to Ripley County, MO before the 1840 census, along with Delilah's three brothers: Martin, Griffith (or Griffin) and Daniel. They setteled in an area called Shiloh on the North prong of the Little Black River where many of their descendants reside today. It is located near the Carter County line. The area is between Grandin and Doniphan, MO. The Old Odom Cemetary and the Emmons Cemetary are located on the Little Black River. There are eleven children listed for Delilah Emmons Odom and Dempsey Odom.
I have found in a Descendants of Emmons by Nadeen McOsker that Dempsey's name was spelled Dempsy and he was a Jr.
