Juda Ann "Julia" Odom

In the 1860 census she is just listed as J.A. and in the 1870 census she is listed but it is hard to read. I'm sure it reads Judann. The dates match. She can also be found on the Marriages 1833-1900 Ripley Co. Mo. Listed as Juda Ann Odum & William Kasinger 02/27/1878. I have found him on the same census in 1860 listed as Wm. Casinger 3 years old. Her granddaughter Christine Nance said that she would never talk about her life. Said that she was part Indian (Blackfoot or Cherokee) and was ashamed. People were ashamed of being Indian back then. Another thing I noticed is that she changes her birth year to suit the men she marries. In 1900 when she is married to Henry Vieth she lists her yr. as 1867 which makes her 32 but she is really 42. I found her on the 1860 census as 9 months old. On the 1920 Census she is living in Eminence, Shannon Co., Mo. She is a widow. Living with her is her son Henry. He is 18. Her last name is spelled Veat. I have heard from the Vieth family that a neighbor who knew her said that she was Osage.(2004 Don Vieth)
