Individual Details
Delia Ann Stinson
(18 Mar 1882 - 17 Oct 1959)
When Les & Delia's kids were young they'd all get in the wagon & go see Aunt
Till. She didn't have children, so she spoiled them when she could. Delia
worked in the tobacco, & they sprayed it for bugs. She lost her sight from the
chemicals. She was as little as Les was tall & wore a size 5 shoe. When the
Great Depression came, they were pretty lucky to be on a farm. Les did have
to sell off some land & all the families took turns helping with harvesting.
During tobacco havest they went from farm to farm. It was a fun gathering time
