John R McClard

(__ ABT 1792 - 20 Oct 1862)

A letter by Ruby McLaird states that Phillis is the daughter of Lord and Lady
Peel of London, England. John was administrator of the estates of his brother
Joshua and his son Patrick. John's will only bequeathed $1 each to his son
Joshua D, and his sons-in-law Edmond Dunn and John Wadkins. He made his
grandson, John A Owens and equal heir. The 1860 census shows Henry McLard's
orphaned daughter, Martha, and John's grandson by his daughter Pamelia living
with him and Phillis.
