"Ellis Brown: awarded 80 acres for service in Germany of Capt. Samuel Jones; Virginia Brown, widow. Affadavits March 9, 1878, of Robert H. Bosher aged 62 years, and W. W. Wingo aged 63 years that they knew Ellis Brown and his wife, Virginia, who was Virginia Hughes, a daughter of Archulus Hughes. They were married in the City of Richmond about January 17, 1833. He died in the City of Richmond on or about July 22, 1870, and his widow has not remarried. Ellis Brown was previously married to one Louisa Bosher, a daughter of John Bosher. She died in Richmond about 1829.
Louisa Bosher Brown died in a theatre fire in Richmond.
