Funeral services for Coleman H. Wingo, 98, of 921 Carroll Blvd. were held Thursday, Feb. 16th at 10 a. m. in the Goen funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. Robert Rush and Rev. Tolbert Dill officiating. Burial was in Roselawn Memorial Park. Mr. Wingo died Monday in the Reaumont Nursing Home.
He was born Feb. 24, 1879, in gainesville, Ga., and had lived in Denton since 1925. He formerly lived near Paris, Texas and was a farmer. Mr. Wingo retired from North Texas State University in 1946. He married Lucy Key in 1898 in the Indian territory, she preceded him in death in 1946. Mr. Wingo was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by one daughter, Mrs Vivian Crout of Denton; two granddaughters, Mrs. Monroe (Ranelle) Davidson of Krum, and Jane Crout of Denton; two great grandsons; Rickey Davidson and Larry Davidson, both of Krum, and several nieces and nephews.
Goen Funeral Home was in charge of the funeral arrangements. Pall bearers were: Rickey Davidson, Larry Davidson, Bob McSpadden, Gene Fowler, Ed Lauderdale and Jack Golden"
