Age 73 yrs., died peacefully September 7, 2005 having stated, after death I will see the face of Jesus. Mr. Wingo, a lfe long resident of Nashville, TN, a graduate of David Lipscomb. He was a Veteran of the U. S. Army, a professional baseball player for the Chicago Cubs and a member of the Old Timers Baseball Hall of Fame. He retired after a 20 yr. career at Bunch Cadillac. He is survived by children, Russell T. (Debbie) Wingo, Terri (Dan) Hightower, Sherri (Craig) Parrish, Gene (Andrea) Wingo and Lanita Clemmons, U. W. Naval Officer; 9 grandchildren; sisters Martha (John) Hahn and Nancy (Bob) Powers. Services will be held 1 p. m. Saturday, September 10, 2005 at Mt. Olivet Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Roy Carter officiating. Interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Pallbears R. T. Wingo, David Wingo, Daniel Hightower, Jr., Mark Wright, Hayworth Parks, Jr., Don Austelle, Rick Harrison, Mike Wingo. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society or American Red Cross (Disaster Relief Fund).
