"Avery Lee "Buster" Wingo, native of Vernon, Rites Held Thursday
Mr. Avery Lee "Buster" wingo, age 83, of Steens, Mississippi, died Tuesday, June 27, 1995, at Baptist Memorial Hospital- Golden Triangle in Columbus, MS.
Mr. Wingo was born on August 28, 1911, in Vernon, Alabama. He was the son of the late Calvin and Bertie Aldridge Wingo. He had made his home in the Columbus, MS area most of his life and had been a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps where he was stationed in Holly Springs, Misssippi. He was a farmer and a charter member of Bethel Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Thursday, June 29, 1995 from the Chapel of Memorial Funeral Home of Columbus, MS. Officiatin were Bro. Ron Harison, bro. Carey Sansing and Bro. Mickey Dalrymple. Internment was in Memoral Gardens under the direction of Memoral Funeral Home.
Suvivors include his three daughters, Mrs. W. Wm "Doris" Ellsworth, Jr. of Lakeland, Florida, Mrs. Robert B. "Coye" Pool and Mrs. James E. "Charlotte" Ragon, both of Steens, MS; one brother, Newman A. Smith of Steens, four grandchildren; and four step-grandchildren.
