(28 Mar 1830 - 11 Nov 1851)
Source: The Louisville and Nashville Christain Advocate May 27, 1852
Woodville, (Jackson County), Ala., April, 1852
Mr. John W. Garner, son of John K. Garner, deceased, was born March 28, 1830, and died November 11, 1851, leaving a wife and one child.
Mr. garner never made a public profession of religion, though he led a very moral life, and was correct in all his dealings with the world. He was highly esteemed and respected by all who knew him. He manifested a deep concern upon the subject of religion while he was sick, and give the writer of this, who was interrogating him uponthe subjec of death, a token that he had no fears of the tremendous realities of eternity, and we indulge the belief that he has gone from this to a better world. May he who feeds the young ravens when they cry, and notices the fall of the sparrow, and has said, that he would be a father to the orphan, and a husband to the widow, be the comfort and stay of the bereaved.
