According to "St Mary's County, Maryland Colonial Period Tenants and Owners of Beaverdam Manor and Surrounding Manors, by Mary Louise Donnelly", on page 56/57, Peter Brown made his will in 1758 and left Clarks Rest to son Peter Brown. On page 59 she has son Peter selling it 5 years before he received it.
