The Mary SMITH who was the daughter of Alexander Smith and wife Elizabeth (widow succesively of Francis POSEY and of John BELAINE) married a different Edward TURNER than the one you have as her husband. There was an Edward TURNER of St. Mary's County that as you note, had written his will there in 1693 that was probated there in 1709, and had the children you list.
The other Edward TURNER (son of Arthur TURNER) was of Charles County and the one who married Mary, daughter of Alexander SMITH. Alexander SMITH in his will stated his grandsons Arthur TURNER and Alexander Smith TURNER, sons of Edward and Mary TURNER were to receive 5000 pounds tobacco each at the age of 21. To his daughter Mary TURNER and her heirs he left 500 acres of land at Piscataway and a half part of the tract *Batchelor's Harbor*. [Charles County, Maryland land records Q1: 2-6, FHL microfilm 0,013,749.]
On 1 Aug. 1694 Edward TURNER of Charles County leased the tract *Batchellors Harbour* of 400 acres where the said TURNER then lived, for the term of 11 years to Gilbert MARSH. This land became part of Prince George's County on its creation in 1696, and the was recorded there on 24 August 1697. [Prince George's County, Maryland Land Records A: 69, FHL microfilm 0,014,247] Edward TURNER then moved to Westmoreland County, Virginia, where on 30 August 1694 the case of Edward TURNER against William STRATFEILD was dismissed. [Westmoreland County, Virginia 1690-1698 order book: 150a, FHL microfilm 0,034,291]
On 21 February 1707 Arthur TURNER of Westmoreland County, Virginia, planter, sold to Thomas ADDISON of Prince George's County, Maryland for 3000 pounds tobacco all that tract called Batchelors Harbur of 400 acres, "Given by the Last will and Testament of Alexander Smith late of Charles County to Mary Turner his Daughter and Late wife of Edward Turner & mother of Arthur Turner." [Prince George's County, Maryland land records C: 204, FHL microfilm 0,014,247] From that, Mary was deceased by 1707. Other records indicate she was probably deceased by 1700.
There are numerous mentions of Edward TURNER and his sons Arthur TURNER and Alexander Smith TURNER in the Westmoreland County, Virginia records, where Edward died about 1720. [Westmoreland County, Virginia court orders 1705-1721 book: 398, FHL microfilm 0,034,293
