Eugene "Gene" Wagner, 62, died at 7:30 PM Tuesday, June 15, 1989, at St. Elizabeth Hospital Medical Center. Born at Wolcott, Nov. 13, 1926, he was a 1944 graduate of Wolcott High School. He was married to Rose Mary Egan, in Kentland, on Jan. 29, 1955; she survives. Mr. Wagner was a supervisor at General Foods before retiring in 1987. He was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church. An avid fisherman, he was treasurer of the Lafayette Steelheaders Club and a member of Michigan Steelheaders Club. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Surviving with his wife are two sons, James Wagner and Danny Wagner; a daughter, Donna Wagner, all of Lafayette; two brothers, Bernard Wagner and Richard Wagner, both of Monticello; three sisters, Luella (Mrs. Paul) Clark of Remington, Eileen (Mrs. Richard) Egan of Medaryville, and Shirley Lehman of Nappanee; and a granddaughter, Charisa.
