DELPHI -- Doris M. Hallam Medley, 84, formerly of Delphi, died at 10:15 a.m. Monday, Oct. 5, 2009, at HPH Hospice in Brooksville, Fla. She had lived there the past eight years, and had been in ill health the last few months. Born Nov. 8, 1924, in Yeoman, she was the daughter of the late Lowell and Gladys Shafer Hallam. She attended Delphi High School. On May 8, 1942, she married Glen A. Medley in Lafayette, and he preceded her in death May 1, 1992. Mrs. Medley worked at the former Globe Valve in Delphi for 18 years, and Landis & Gyr in Lafayette for 10 years. She was a member of the Delphi Christian Church and the Delphi American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed crocheting, fishing and cooking. Surviving are two daughters, M. Glenna Trautner (husband: Roger) of Brooksville, Fla., and Joyce Furr (husband: Tom) of Orlando, Fla.; a sister, Margie Maxwell of Chalmers; and a brother, Jack Hallam (wife: Shirley) of Logansport. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Judy; 6 brothers and 2 sisters. Friends may call from 1 p.m. until her memorial service at 2 p.m. Saturday at Abbott Funeral Home, Delphi, the Rev. Ed Selvidge officiating. Burial of cremains at Yeoman Cemetery.Endnotes
