Notes
Death
John Randall Furr, age 79, was born on November 23, 1946, in Rice Lake, Wisconsin, to Don and Ellen Furr. He grew up in Lansing, Michigan, and graduated from Eastern High School in 1965. John proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1967 to 1970, including service in Vietnam. In 1967, he married the love of his life, Karen (Burgess) Furr, and together they shared 58 years of marriage. John worked for General Motors for 30 years, building a career marked by dedication and hard work. A man of strong faith, he attended Trinity Baptist Church in Farwell, Michigan, and Streams Church in Arizona. John was an avid golfer for many years, enjoying countless hours on the course and the friendships he formed there, as well as within his church congregations. He also loved playing cards with family and friends and was especially proud of winning whenever he could. John passed away peacefully on December 24, 2025, in Arizona, surrounded by family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Karen (Burgess) Furr; his three daughters, Tonya (Ed Carhart), Jenny Furr, and Mary (Trevor Jacobs); his four granddaughters, Megan (Sam), Ashley (Jake), Emma, and Katie; and his two great-grandchildren, Alistair and Henrietta. He was preceded in death by his parents, Don and Ellen Furr, and his siblings, Donnalea, Larry, and Dennis. A memorial service to celebrate John’s life will be held this summer in Trout Lake, Michigan, with the date to be announced.Endnotes
