Worked as a stone fabricator for two years. Then went to work for the Motor Wheel Corporation in Lansing, Michigan. Beginning in 1984, he was a very active advocate against the overloading of school buses endorsing both State and Federal legislation. Tried to start a national infromation center for parents of the victims of overloaded school buses. Resided in Lansing, Michigan.

Death
Furr, Dennis D., Lansing, age 50, loving father and husband, died Sunday, September 20, 1992. He retired from Motor Wheel Corporation after 25 years of service and was an advocate of school bus safety. Surviving are his wife, Bonnie; daughters, Julie (David) Gruhn and Sheri Furr; sons, Dennis Furr and Paul (Cathy) Furr; and grandchildren; parents, Donley and Ellen Furr of Lansing; brother, John (Karen) Furr. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 23, 1992 at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Officiating will be Dr. Kenneth Benson of Faith United Methodist Church and Pastor Michael Rockafello of Church of the Brethren.
