These notes are from material that Clara Bonner (granddaughter of William Speer) had at her nome in Due West, S.C. Thear are now in the possession of a great granddaughter of Nettie Speer Bonner (Stella Thompson of Honea Path, S.C.

William Cooper Speer son of John and Catherine Speer was born on Oct. 28, 1827 and married Eliza Archibald Ardery born March 27, 1832 on September 16, 1851. William died Oct. 30, 1907 and Eliza died August 5, 1919. Both are buried in East Hill cemetery, Rushville, Indiana. William and Eliza lived in Rushville, Indiana and Covington, Kentucky. They moved back to Indiana about two years before William's death.

Eliza Archibald Ardery's parents were Thomas Ardery and Martha McKee.
