Lt. Col. Thomas A. Goff, USAF (Ret.), 88, resident of Annapolis, Maryland passed away on January 24, 2011 at Baltimore Washington Medical Center.

Col. Goff was born February 6, 1922 in Leitchfield, KY. He was mostly raised and went to school in Minonk, IL, from where he entered the military service in 1942. He went to flying school and became a navigator and flew 2 tours of combat totaling 44 missions in B-17s over Germany as a lead navigator. He retired from the Air Force in 1963. His military decorations include the Distinguished Flying Cross and 8 Air Medals. He then worked as an Intelligence Officer in a civilian capacity.

Col. Goff helped form the 8th Air Force Historical Society in 1975 and served as a Director for 8 years, National Secretary for 3 years and Vice President for 1 year when he had his third heart attack and his doctor ordered him to get out of the stress. He had concurrently helped form the 8th Air Force Memorial Museum Foundation and served as a Director on that Board for 8 years. He also belonged to the American Legion, Disabled American Veterans, Air Force Association and The Retired Officers Association.

He was a long time member of the Masons and was quite active in the National Sojourners having been local President, Secretary and Sojourner Maryland representative as well as the Offices including Commander of the Heroes of '76. He was a member of Rob Morris Lodge AF&AM.

He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Aileen Goff, brothers Bobbie H. Goff and Ralph A. Goff, and sisters Monica Tucker and Burnette Rocke.

He was the beloved father of Richard Goff; dear brother of Jackie Goff; good friend of many years of Lillian Malkus. He is also survived by many cousins, nephews and nieces.
