Christopher S. Beeler
(Bef 1709 - 1774)
West Virginia separated from Virginia on 20 June 1863 to become the 35th State.
Arrived in America from Germany in 1709.
Also signed name as Christopher Bohlen, Bulor, Biller.
1773 March 30. On this day Christopher Beeler wrote his will and the proceeds from the sale of his house in Alexandria were to be divided among his grandchildren after 100 pounds was set aside for the Sisters in the Cloister at Ephrata, who had cared for his daughter Catherine in her illness, and 50 pounds to his son Samuel. Christopher's will dated 13 Mar 1773 at Hampdhire Co., Virginia. (W.V.) Probated 6 June 1779 at Fairfax Co., Virginia - Will Book D1 Pages 129-30 .
In the name of God Amen. The thirtieth day of March one thousand seven hundred and seventy three. I Christopher Beeler now of Hampshire County of Colony of Virginia, Gent. being sick and weak in body but of perfect mind and memory, thanks be given unto God therefore calling unto mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for men once to die do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament, that is to say principally and first of all I give and recommend my soul into the hands of Almighty God that gave it and my body I recommend to the Earth to be burried in decent Christian burial at the discretion of my Executors nothing doubting but at the generall resurection I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God and as touching such worldly estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this life I give devise dispose of the same in the following manner and form.
First of all my just debts and funeral charges to be fully paid. Item I give and bequeath to my son Joseph five Pounds currant money of Virginia and no more on account he has had more than what I am able to leave to the rest of my surviving children.
Also I give and bequeath to my daughter Mary and her children that track of land she now lives on lying and being on new Creek and the north branch in Hampshire County said Colony.
Also I leave and bequeath to my son Benjamin five shillings sterling he having received his full shear allready of my estate.
Also I leave and bequeath to my son Samuel fifty pounds currant money of Virginia over and above what I intended to leave to my grandchildren out of my house in Alexandria when sold.
Also I Ieave and bequeath to my sister in the Cloisters in Lancaster County and in Pensylvania for taking care of my daughter Catharine when there and in her sickness in Pensylvania money the sum of one hundred pounds.
Also I order constitute and appoint that all the money that my house in Alexandria will be sold for to be divided among my grandchildren when received only my son Samuel is to have fifty pounds as I have ordered of the hundred pounds to the Sisters in the Cloisters first out of the money that will be raised out of the said house and the remainder to be equally divided amongst each of my children's children not that every grandchild should have an equal part but that Joseph, Frederick, Mary, Benjamin and Samuel's should be allowed no more than if the same was to be divided amongst each of their familys for some have more children than others but in case Benjamin should die without issue lawfully begotten then his part is to be equally divided among the rest of my grandchildren according to the purport and instructions of the above mentioned clause.
I likewise make constitute make and ordain John Carlylye, Jno Dalton who are now in partnership to be my executors of this my last will and testament and I do hereby utterly disallow, revoke and disannoull all and every other former testaments wills legacies bequests and executors by me in any ways before named wills and bequeathes ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year above written.

At a court held for the County of Fairfax 21 June 1779. This will was presented in Court by Benjamin Beeler who made oath thereto and the same being proved by the oath of John Myars and Barbara Myars two of the witnesses is admitted to record and the said Benjamin having performed what the laws require certificate is granted him for obtaining letters of administration with the will annexed in our form.
