Frederick Beeler

(Abt 1730 - Apr 1764)

West Virginia separated from Virginia on 20 June 1863 to become the 35th State.

1740. Frederick Beeler migrated south into Virginia from the Ephrata Community in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, along with his father, older brother Joseph, his sister Catherine, the widow of Hans Michael Schule, who would become his stepmother, and probably some children of this woman. His mother remained in the Cloister at Ephrata and was known as Sister Esther. She died in 1741(Wust).

The year 1730 for his birth year is a guess. When Frederick died in 1764 he had four minor sons, George being the oldest.

1760 May 5. Frederick Beeler, blacksmith, bought 329 acres of land on a branch of the Shenandoah River called Evitts Run from Christopher Beeler, farmer, for 150 pounds. (LDS film #0031370, Frederick Co. Deed Book 5, p. 518)

1764 Feb 25. Frederick wrote his will.
