Message from Roy to Ron:
Ship ' Crown of Arragon ' - this could be a nice human interest part of your family history. I have come up with the fact that the ship wasn't all that big ie: 1486 ton. At this stage I don't know whether she was a sailing ship or a early steamer. We will keep looking. I know there is a postcard of her that I found on the website - they wanted US$17 for it.
On the same subject, she left Glasgow on the 18th April 1884 and arrived Brisbane July 1884 with three hundred and eighty passengers. Twenty died on the voyage and twenty were born but this could account for some of the deaths as checking on passenger lists, not many births survived the trip.
Also, young children had a very high mortality rate at that time. This could also account for your two missing children on the voyage. Did they die ?
