Otto attended Highland Park College of Engineering at Des Moines for two years. In 1921 he worked for an automobile distributor at Des Moines and went to Fort Collins two years later where he worked as a service and parts manager of a Chevrolet garage.
He served in the Army during WW II, stationed at Fort Root, Arkansas. He was a member of the Methodist church and belonged to the Masonic Lodge at Brooklyn, the Elks Lodge and the American Legion at Fort Collins.

A quiet home wedding last Thursday evening was that of Miss Ruby Breniman, youngest daugher of Mr. and Mrs. Fred F. Breniman, and Mr. Otto Gloe, son of Mrs. and Mrs. Frank Gloe. The bride has been a popular student in the Brooklyn high school and is a great favorite among her acquaintances. The groom is a member of the firm of Roudabush & Gloe, proprietors of the River Road garage and is an industrious and prosperous young man -- Chronicle.
