Hazel attended Warren #5, graduated from Victor High School in 1930. She then attended Iowa State Teachers College and received a two year primary teachers certificate. She taught one year at Warren #5, two years first and second grades in Hartwick and three years of second grade in Clarinda, Ia.
Hazel had three brothers and a sister: Wayne, Earl, Max and Eunice.
During her married life, she served as a Sunday school teacher and deacon in the Presbyterian Church. She was a girls' 4-H club leader, member of the N. B. Club, BBB Club, Columbian Club, Grinnell Chapter of DAR, and belonged to several card clubs.

Hazel M. Breniman,88, died Tuesday, July 20, 1999, in the Grinnell Regional Medical Center after a short illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nevenhoven Funeral Home, Brooklyn, by the Rev. Daniel Ogata. Burial: Brooklyn Memorial Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home, where the family will be present after 6:30 p.m.
Survivors include two sons, Daryl of Marshalltown and Donald of Ankeny; and a brother, Max Dolmage of Victor.
