"Cloud Bethel was a soldier in the War of 1812. In 1815 moved family to Orange County, Indiana and later moved to Warrick County. He was a Baptist preacher. Cloud and his wife had 6 sons and 1 daughter." ("The Early Bethells and their Descendants" by Virginia Mohler Garde, Rt 3 Box 327A, Edwardsville, IL 62025; pg 94, 95 & 136.)
