Louis Kendrick Cantrell

"Louis Kendrick Cantrell was born December 26, 1844 in Bradley County, Tennessee. He married Mary Ellen Cantrell, youngest daughter of Green and Mary Cantrell, January 23, 1868, in De Kalb County, Tennessee. They live at McMinnville (1907). He is a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian church and is a Republican in politics. At the age of eighteen years, he enlisted in Company C, 11th Georgia Regiment, under General Longstreet. He was in every battle and skirmish in which Longstreet's men were engaged from Chickamauga to Appomattox Court House. He was slightly wounded four times, and was at the surrender, April 9, 1865, and reached home May 5, 1865, for the first time since his enlistment.
