"Alfred Webb Cantrell enlisted February 21, 1862, in Company H, Cobb's Cavalry, C. S. A. He was in nearly all of the hard fought battles in Virginia. He had the cape of his overcoat shot off at the shoulders; his rations cut to crumbs; served until the surrender and came out without a scratch. He lives at Warrensburg, Missouri (1907)."
