"Starling Blackwell Cantrell enlisted February 21, 1862, in Company H, Cobb's Cavalry, C. S. A. and served until October 1863, when he was elected tax collector of White County, Georgia, which office he held until the surrender. He was in the battle of Brandy Station and all fights around Culpepper, Virginia. He and his wife had no children. He resides at Gainesville, Georgia."
