"Edgar Harlan Kellar, born June 18, 1863, in Sullivan, Illinois; married Lida Stewart, daughter of Dr. J. M. Stewart, of Exeter, Illinois, April 14, 1886. Both gradutated from Eureka College and also Des Moines College, and thereby hangs a romance. The young people met at Eureka College and learned something there not found in the curriculum. Dr. Stewart thinking his daughter too young for marriage transferred her to another college, but the same year found Edgar Kellar among the students there. Dr. Stewart still thinking his daughter too young to be married proposed to take her for a trip around the world, but this proved no inducement and the young people carried the day and were married. Edgar Kellar studied at the Union Theological College, New York City, for the ministry, and has had charge of various churches of the Christian denomination in the South and Middle West, among them being the Christian church at Galveston, one at St. Louis and one at Carrolton, Missouri. He is now engaged in mission work at Los Angeles, California." (THE CANTRILL - CANTRELL GENEALOGY, 1908, by Susan Cantrill Christie, page 46.)
