He was a teacher and administrator of high schools for twenty three years, and he was employed as an accountant for the U. S. Government for twenty three years. He served in World War I as a clerk in the Officers Training School at Waco, Texas. In 1972, Horace and Jessie Lou lived at 336 Winthrop Avenue, Elmhurst, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago."
