Jesse Hanson
(July 24, 1761 - March 7, 1852)
FAG 211868003
1830 Fayette County, Georgia, page 202: William HANSON: 1 male - under 5 years, 1 male - 20 to 30 years, 1 female - 20 to 30 years. (NOTE FROM RALPH TERRY: Next door was a Thomas Hanson, 30 to 40 years old and on page 204 is a Jesse Hanson, 60 to 70 years old. I feel these are the brother and father of our William Hanson and have placed them in this genealogy on this basis. This could be incorrect.)
1850 Randolph County, Alabama census, family/dwelling 160: Jesse and Mary Hanson, with a boy, Newton Murphy, age 18, mulatto. Mary was a Murphy, so he could have been a personal slave to her. His son, William, was living a short distance away at family/dwelling 138.
Note from Ralph Terry: For over 30 years, I have believed that William Joseph Hanson's father, Jesse Hanson was same Jesse Hanson of the well documented Robert Hinson line. I have also kept the record of this Jesse Hanson family in hopes that it could some day be proven. So here, in 2019, I have still have no definite proof, but have noted that a number of researchers have also felt there was a link between these two families. Through DNA research an apparent link has been noted. Knowing that I may not have too many more years to do research, I have linked the two Jesse Hansons, in hopes this link may be of some help to future researchers.
The Robert Hinson family records show Jesse Hanson was born 24 July 1761 and died 7 March 1852 in Randolph County, Alabama. As Jesse's son, William "Billy" Hanson has a marked grave at Liberty Grove Church Cemetery, it is probable the his father, Jesse Hanson is also buried there.
