1800 Guilford County, North Carolina census, page 675: Ephraim TROTTER; 3 males under 10 years of age; 2 males 10 to 16 years of age; 1 male 26 to 45 years of age; 1 female under 10 years of age; 1 female 26 to 45 years of age.
"Ephraim Trotter, Will made 20 March 1819, Probated May 1819. Wife - all lands and property during widowhood. Edward Oalddom Trotter - to inherit land where I live. Son Ephraim - shall live on the place he settled until my youngest child comes of age. Sons, Shadrack, James, Ephraim, Rubin, Bennet, and Hardin - proceeds of sale form 100 acres of land. My four daus - balance of my personal property. Wits: David Armfield, John Wheat. Adm granted by court to Polly Trotter and Shadrack Trotter." "There was also an Isaiah born in 1790 and I have not been able to verify his relationship, but believe he was their son." (D. H. Trotter, via the internet, November 1996.) (NOTE FROM RALPH TERRY: If Isaiah Trotter was a son and born in 1790, and the 1800 census accounts for all the children and the dates given are correct, then Isaiah could not have been a son of Ephraim Trotter. Therefore, it appears that the Isaiah Trotter who married Sally Cranor was the son of Benjamin Trotter and Nancy Weatherley.)
