"Reuben Trotter married Jane Craner, 24 June 1820, surety: Solomon Armfield, witness: Wm. T. Shields." (Guilford County, North Carolina Marriage Records.)
"In the 1830 census for Guilford County, North Carolina Reuben Trotter is listed with one male under 5, Joshua, one male between 30 and 40, Reuben, one female under 5, Senith, two females between 5 and 10, Hannah and Sallie, and one female between 20 and 30, Jane. Joshua is not listed in the 1840 census. He would have been between 10 and 15. So I assume he died before 1840. In the same 1840 census there is only 1 female listed in the age group between 15 and 20. So again I assume that Sallie died before 1840 because Hannah died about 1861 in Kentucky. (D. H. "I have three more children to add to your list of the children of Reuben Trotter and Jane Cranor. They are Sallie, Joshua, and Senith. I received this information from the granddaughter of Emily Trotter, the daughter of Reuben Trotter and Jane Cranor, about 25 years ago. I believe that she may have gotten the information from Reuben Trotter�s family bible but I do not know that for sure. Reuben Trotter had one son by his second marriage. His name was Reuben Winfield Trotter. He was born in 1865 and died in 1931. He was married to Charlie Croft. They didn�t have any children." (D. H. Trotter, email: DHTrot@aol.com>, 1998).
