Martin R. Judah

(February 12, 1789 - February 17, 1845)

"Martin R. Judah is said to have gone into the forests of Missouri to cut himself a new axe handle. A tree fell on him, 17 February, 1845 near DeKalb, killing him. The widow was left with 7 children, the oldest, 21 years of age and the youngest 3 years of age, and pregnant with her 8th child, John Bell Judah, who was born 11 May, 1845, after his father's death.
