"Gene Davis was found with Dock Britt and Ida in 1900 census for Independence County, Arkansas. A. A. (Dock) Britt moved his family to Texas or Oklahoma when Ida Lee died in 1904. Courtney Robertson says that Gene was an employee at the deaf school in Sulphur, Oklahoma. Jewel Holcomb Cannady, Grand-daughter of Fletcher B. Davis says, " I firmly believed A. A. Britt lived in Texas around Paris where W. J. Holcomb lived or close in the area. Eldon says, "I think the W is for Winston."
