"Frank C. Judia was born in Cisco, Texas June 22, 1923. I was named by Cap (my grandfather, George Henry Judia) after his father James Franklin (my great grandfather). I served in the military (Army Air Force) from February 22, 1943 until December 5, 1945. During World War II, I was stationed overseas in North Africa and Italy as a fighter pilot (flying the P-47 aircraft) with a total military and retired from the Air Force at Langley AFB VA, TAC HQ. as Lt. Co. on May 31, 1970. While in the military, I traveled in every state in the union (except Maine, West Virginia, North and South Dakota) and in the following countries: Labrador, Greenland, Panama Canal and in every country in Europe. In each, I looked for the name Judia. The only think I found was the word Judia on the menu in a restaurant in Madrid, Spain (1962). It means "bean" in spanish. That night my wife and I had "Verde Judias"--green beans for dinner. My genealogy search for the name Judia has lead me to my great, great grand-father, Henry Clay Judia, born in 1820, Clark County, Kentucky, married February 17, 1848. Before him, it is believed that the name came from Switzerland and is anglicized from "Tschudi" (pronounced Choo-di). This name can be traced to 870 AD Bern, Switzerland. Mary Cornelius Clark (Connie, my first wife) and I had a son Paul Ray born February 19, 1955 in Greenville, Mississippi. Connie and I divorced when Paul was two years old. He was raised by and lived with his grandparents (my parents) Mr. and Mrs Ivan Ray Judia, Cisco, Texas. Paul married Sharon Agnew of Cisco in 1974 and had a boy named Rickey Carl, born February 2, 1975 Cisco, Texas. Paul and Sharon divorced and Paul then married Patsy Phipps April 10, 1982 in Galveston, Texas. My marriage to Betty Jane Fite on December 22, 1957, Cisco, Texas produced two boys. Now there were five boys which would continue the Judia name. I was the only Judia for a while but with all these boys the name is assured. David Franklin was born December 4, 1958 in Sacremento, California and Glenn Alexander was born April 5, 1961 at Mather AFB, Sacramento, California. David married Carol Needham April 4, 1987 and Glenn married Jan Henigar June 7, 1986. Both married in Walden, Signal Mountain, Tennessee." (Frank C. Judia, 1987.)
