"George Rowland married Jean Wilson 28 October 1772 in Guilford County, North Carolina, now Rockingham County; witnessed by "Dominic Filand" (which should have read "Dominick Gilliland). The Gillilands follows the Rowlands from Virginia to North Carolina to Tennessee and Pope County, Arkansas." (Mary Rowland, Sequim, Washington.)
"George Rowland died intestate. His estate was divided between his five sons, George, David, Benjamin, John, James. Two other sons were not mentioned in the distribution. They were William (1769 Augusta County, Virginia - about 1835 Warren County, Tennessee); and Robert (1767 Augusta County, Virginia -1828 Smith County, Tennessee). As these last two were living at the time of George's death, they might possibly not belong to this family." (Mary Rowland, Sequim, Washington.)
