Individual Details
Catherine Jane Fitz
(April 3, 1785 - October 8, 1855)
Jane Judy was living with her son, Martin Judy, in the 1850 Clark County, Kentucky census, age 72, born in Virginia.
"Judia and I visited the graveyard where Jane is buried and located her tombstone, which was on the west fence line of the cemetery, but just lying on the ground, not in the ground. It reads, "Jane Judy, born April 3, 1785, died October 8, 1855, wife of David Judy." This cemetery is recorded in OLD GRAVEYARDS OF CLARK COUNTY, KENTUCKY, 1975 by Kathryn Owen, page 125 (Winchester, Kentucky library). Most of the stones in this old abandoned cemetery had been overturned and shuffled around somewhat. We feel that Jane's husband, David Judy could also be buried in this cemetery, as we have not yet been able to determine where they lived when David died." (Ralph Terry, October 1997.)
